Alejandro Cortés is a Mexican award-winning filmmaker based in New York City. He is known primarily for his work as Cinematographer and Producer. Graduated from the School of Visual Arts with the "Outstanding Achievement in Film" medal, he has a BFA in Film with a specialty in Cinematography.

With more than half a decade of experience, Alejandro has worked on over a hundred productions varying from narrative feature and short films, documentaries, music videos, commercials and branded content. He has filmed in North and Central America, the Caribbean and Asia.

His work has produced several awards and traveled through multiple film festivals around the globe. Most recently, he was nominated by the American Society of Cinematographers for the Haskel Wexler Heritage Award, for his cinematography in the documentary Adrift.

Known for his commitment to telling stories that deal with social issues, Alejandro has been published by some of the most influential newspapers in Mexico, and his image appears in the back cover of the summer edition of Filmmaker Magazine with his quote: "film is my commitment to creating work that matters in the world".
